As if fear of dying weren’t bad enough . . .

It turns out that the fear of dying during a heart attack is not just an emotional response. It’s also linked to biological changes in the body that happen during acute cardiac events. In fact, research has found that intense fear of dying during a heart attack is associated with a four-fold increased risk of showing large inflammatory responses known to be damaging to the heart, in turn increasing the risk of longer-term issues – including having another heart attack.
