Heart attack? Who, me? Couldn’t be!

by Carolyn Thomas     @HeartSisters

I had no idea that heart disease is the number one killer of women in North America – until my own heart attack last May.

Wish I knew long ago what I’ve learned since then.  But my hope now is to share what I’ve learned with other women – from the unique grassroots perspective of a heart attack survivor and 2008 graduate of the WomenHeart Science & Leadership Symposium for Women with Heart Disease at the world famous Mayo Clinic.  You can learn more about my public presentations on women’s heart health here.

Stay along for the ride with me . . .

(This was my very first (and shortest) post on April 5, 2009, the day I launched my Heart Sisters blog. Since then, I’ve been busy.  In 2017, my book A Woman’s Guide To Living With Heart Disease (based on 700+ Heart Sisters articles over the years) was published by Johns Hopkins University Press. You can ask for it at your local bookshop, or order it online (paperback, hardcover or e-book) at Amazon, or order it directly from Johns Hopkins University Press. (Spring Book Sale!
